We received an update on the upcoming NCHC, and they had this exciting news to share:

We would like to announce the 2016 National Capital Homebrew Competition.
The competition will coincide with the Ottawa Craft Beer Festival to be held on August 26th – 28th, 2016.

We had great success with last years competition we had just under 300 entries and some fantastic prizes given out. Our core organizing committee of local homebrewers are committed to continuing on the success of past years, and we’re very excited to be a part of the Ottawa Beer Festival once again.

Registration will open May 19, entries will not be accepted after Thursday, July 21st. The winners will be announced on Sunday August 27th during the Ottawa Craft Beer Festival.  A list of the winners and the various styles will be announced on this website by no later than Monday, September 1, 2016.

This years competition will be based on the 2015 style guidelines, you can find a reference to these styles here.

There will be a limit of one entry per brewer per sub category.

The cost will be $6.00 per entry.

The number of entries accepted to this years competition will be capped at 300.  This will help us ensure we have enough experienced judges available to provide you with the highest quality feedback.

We will have updates soon regarding mail and drop off locations.

We plan on working with our sponsors to provide some great prizes once again!  We will have more details about this in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to our website at http://nationalcapitalhomebrew.tumblr.com and follow us on twitter @nchbcompetition.
